So I just made a rather large purchase (which will henceforth be referred to as an “investment”) for use in my upcoming compositions. After months of putting it off and then some pretty heavy deliberation, I bought the Miroslav Refill Gold Bundle. I primarily want it for the choirs, but anyone who’s heard my crap knows that I really like abusing orchestral instruments. Ah well — what’s money for, anyway?
My repetoire of time-wasting activities is at its slimmest ever, too. I don’t have World of Warcraft anymore and I “finished” Oblivion and Shivering Isles last night. Only my girlfriend (her name’s Cat and she is a
dinosaur lovely girl) and my job occupy my time now. Just for reference, in case anyone is really curious, I’m programming C++ applications for Windows CE 5.0 devices such as this one (which I like to call “The BORG”). We equip them with automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) engines… So in other words, you talk to these things and they talk back. It’s exciting work and I’m having a blast. Maybe that’s why I’m not so worried about music… because I’m getting my creative kicks out of the programming… hm… But when that Refill gets here, I won’t be able to resist! And, as always, if you’re interested in lending me your voice (and hopefully lyrical talents!) for some musical collaboration, please do let me know.
Oh yeah, and I should be attending A-Kon this year with my good buddy Snafu Dave. Who knows, maybe I’ll get some more hot Moogle pictures!
